I have looked for something to replace my mouse, with better ergonomics, because my arm was sore after a full day and sometimes night, of mousing around. I was looking for one of those, roller ball stationary mice, when I ran across the Wacom BamBoo Pen and Touch, a very cool looking stylish, half touch pad…
… half pressure-sensitive pen, giving you the best of both worlds.
The Wacom BamBoo Pen & Touch, measures only 7 x 10 inch’s and is only about a 1/4 inch thick. So it can easily fit into a laptop carry-on. It’s powered by the USB port, so nothing more to plug in. And you can use it with a Desktop, Laptop… PC or Mac. If you want, you can also keep your mouse, and switch back and forth, seeing as they play together nicely.
I found it very easy to set up, which this little graphic on the software box shows:
Step 1 – Insert the CD, Step 2 – Driver Loads, Step 3 – Plug the Bamboo Pen and Touch into an available USB port.
Along with the Driver Software, they give you Adobe® Photoshop Elements 7.0 for Windows and 6.0 version for the Mac for editing, retouching, enhancing your digital photos, etc.
One of the things I really like is the finger gesturing feature with the Bamboo Pen and Touch. Unlike the small pad that comes with most laptops, you use one or both fingers to easily scroll, go back, go forward, right-click, left click, rotate photos, enlarge or reduce the size of images and photos, even your browser screen, very cool!
You can also program 4 buttons along the side of the Bamboo Pen & Touch, to do just about anything, from copy and paste to opening programs.
The one negative so far has been that, users with Win XP like me, don’t have the hand writing features, that users of Vista and Window’s 7 have.
Even with that, I’m loving this cool tool, so if you’re looking for a replacement for your mouse, or just want to add more flexibility to your work flow or your just trying to keep from being soar at the end of the day and want to switch it up a bit to keep from doing the same repetitive motion over and over…
… it only makes sense to get one for yourself. The Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch had great reviews on Amazon, a great price plus free shipping!
Until next time,
