Website Design Feedback With FiveSecondTest

Tester ArtIf you ever wanted to know what others think of your site’s design, then here’s a new place to find out. It’s called FiveSecondTest.com and I have tried them out. And so far, I’ve gotten some good feedback, about my SmallTimeMarketer.com site.

You can conduct a couple of free test types, the Memory Test, which you give users five seconds to look at your design and then ask them to remember some specific elements about your site…

… and the Click Test, where you give the users five seconds to find and click on specific elements of your sites design.

These Five second tests are simple usability tests that will help you measure the effectiveness of your designs.

All you need to do is upload a design using a screen capture of it (I used Jing in .jpg format). Then you want to choose the type of test you want to run. You will be given a unique link that you can share with friends and colleagues and have them do your test. Or you can let our random users do your test for really fast feedback!

So far the free tests are pretty great, but they do offer Bronze, Silver and Gold test (paid upgrades). These upgrades not only give you access to extra features, but also increase the number of results you will receive and the speed at which you’ll get them.

Another unique thing they have, is what they call the “Karma System”…

… Put simply, you do one test, you earn one karma point. When you get 10 karma points, you can buy 10 more results for one of your tests. Easy! So this means their free tests can get up to 15 results, without you spending a single dollar. Of course, if you want more features, then you will need to pay. But the pricing is very low for usability tests, about 5 dollars per token, which you can buy, using your PayPal account or credit card through PayPal.

Please check them out at FiveSecondTest.com, and let me know what you think, in the comments below.

Until next time,

PS. No this is NOT an affiliate of mine, just a cool site I ran across.
