One of the best ways to insure success online is getting significant website traffic. The more eyeballs viewing your website, the better your sales and profits will be. I would be so bold as to assume you already have a niche and you know what your keywords are, and regularly conduct keyword research to stay on top of what’s popular. Based on this I have six fast traffic building tips for you.
Tip #1 Make sure you’re tagging your on page keywords.
Why spend so much time optimizing your web pages and then neglect to tag them with your keywords? Tags are what the search engines look for, within your web pages and if there aren’t any tags they’ll pass over your web pages without indexing them properly.
There are a number of tags available including:
Title tags. Title tags are quite possibly the most important place to situate your keywords. Here’s what they look like – <title>Primary keyword phrase here</title> Your title tag is where you place your primary keyword phrase. This sentence is where you describe your business in less than 90 characters.
Header Tags. Header tags are next in the line of importance to the search engines. They’re ranked in order of importance h1, h2, h3 and so on. And look like this – Primary and/or Secondary keywords here So an h1 tag designates this header as the most important header on the page.
Meta Tags. Meta tags give the small descriptive text that’s found underneath the title tag, on the search engine results page. Just like title tags, these should be kept brief, informative and up to date.
Alt Tags. Alt tags are used to give a text description of a none text image/graphic. Each image or graphic on your site should have a description using an alt tag.
Tip #2 Add good content to your site daily
Content is essential for traffic and a top search engine rankings. Content is what the search engine spiders look for and index – without it there’s nothing to index. Give your visitors and search engines a good reason to visit and index your site. Make a commitment to provide something (this could be any type of tag-able content) daily, optimize your content and your traffic will soar.
Tip #3 Cultivate valuable and relevant incoming links
The more links you can get from high ranked, relevant websites, the more valuable the search engines will perceive your website to be. Search engines give more leverage to links from a PR6 ranked website as they would from a PR3 website. When speaking of relevant, this just means, if your website is about “shoes” you want websites linking to you that have something to do with “shoes” not cars or boats, etc.
There are different types of links:
A Direct Link looks like a basic website address, such as, www.yourwebsite.com
An Anchor Text Link occurs when the webpage address is embedded in the text. Readers simply click on the link and are redirected to a new website page. Example: Great Computer Repair company.
A Deep Link is when the link is to a page, other than your home page, this could be an article you published, etc.
You can encourage linking to your website by:
- Adding valuable content to your website daily.
- Submitting to the article directories.
- Publishing valuable press releases.
- Blogging and participating in social networks, forums, chat rooms, etc.
Tip #4 Be more social!
Now more than ever before, internet marketing is about building a network. Social networking is a valuable traffic building tactic. Sites like Twitter, Facebook, etc. can be powerful tools for generating more links along with more traffic to your website.
Become involved – many chat rooms and forums are industry specific, so find the ones that cater to your industry, and start participating. Speak to and connect with that highly targeted audience.
Tip #5 Paid Adverting for more exposure and traffic
Paid advertising, when handled right, can be used to promote more traffic to your website. PPC (Pay Per Click) advertising is often the tool of choice because you can control your advertising budget, and use tools to test and track your advertising efforts. Once you’ve honed your PPC ads your ROI (Return On Investment) can be high, in terms of traffic and sales.
Tip #6 Use Video to drive more traffic
In August 2009, Americans watched 10 billion videos on YouTube. That same month, Americans conducted 9 billion searches on Google. Yep, Americans watched a billion more YouTube videos than they conducted Google searches.
Video when properly mixed with all the above tactics, can make a major impact on traffic coming to your website. And with video tools like CyberLink and others, making it easy, why not use this great tool, to your advantage.
To achieve maximum results, create a Traffic and SEO strategy combined. Outline your plan and make your goals then take the necessary action. Take advantage of these six traffic and search engine tips to boost your business.
Until next time,

Hi, my name is Jared. My father and I run a financial investment blog, Wealth-Ed where we discuss and comment on current events regarding finance, investment, the stock market, politics or anything of that nature. I discovered your website browsing through google and I really enjoy it. Thanks!
How long have you been blogging for!?
I have been creating websites for myself and others for about 6 years now, anything from brochure sites to large corporate websites, along with affiliate websites of my own. As far as a steady blog site, I started this one a little over 6 months ago, so I’m still getting my sea legs, as the saying goes. I have some pretty cool things planed, so keep checking back, or subscribe to my weekly update.
Hey, just wanted to say thanks for posting – I’ve been publishing articles on my own blog now for the last 6 months or so, and I know how awkward it can be to come up with original information for visitors to your site. I’ll be sure to check back soon for more
Thank you, I’m glad you like my blog. I have a lot of knowledge stored up, and needed to find a way to help people with it.
Love your blog I’m going to subscribe.
Would love to find out more about this subject.
Great, I would love to have you on-board, I have a lot planned.
I wanna thank the blogger so much not only for this post but also for his all previous efforts.
Great post, I would suggest that you make it a bit easier to add this to some social media sites, throw up a big add to stumble button or something in a few places that are obvious. No sense in making it too much work to add your stuff. Also, I really like your comment layout here, is it the default setup for your theme or did you customize it?
Thanks for the info, I check up on a few blogs on a daily basis but I will be bookmarking yours and stopping by often. Also, I like the layout you have on this site, it makes it easy to find what I am looking for and doesnt distract me to the point that I have to leave,. Did you style your comments like this or is this how your theme was setup originally?
It’s refreshing to see someone very chuffed about what they do. If only I had your writing aptitude. I look forward to more updates and will be returning. Thanks!
Affiliate programs allow you to profit from your site or blog’s content and traffic, allow you as well to become a sales person for some other website’s product, service or content.
hi cool little web-site you have there
I am using the exact theme on mine but for what ever cause it would seem to stream sooner on your site despite the fact that yours seems to have a little more multimedia. Are you currently implementing different plug ins or widgets which quicken it up? Do you think you could quite possibly share the names so maybe I can use them on my personal websites so twilight new moon fans could watch twilight new moon online trailers and videos more quickly I’d always be pleased – regards ahead of time
Thanks for the kind words Barbara, I took a look at your squidoo site, the videos you have on their, are coming from YouTube. While YouTube is a good source to drive traffic to your site… when you are using their videos on your site, you are at the mercy of how fast they will load from YouTube, if at all. I do post YouTube videos from time to time on my site, but try to keep an eye out, for loading problems or the video going bye bye altogether. And it’s best if you can post your own videos on your own YouTube account and then point to pages on your own sites, to get more traffic juice.
Truly loved reading your post. I found your site through msn. Very refreshing content. Have bookmarked your webpage. Look forward to looking through more from your website. Chris
