QR Codes (Quick Response Codes) were initially used for tracking parts during manufacturing, QR Codes are now moving into the mobile market, in all type of ways.
Once scanned they can take you to a:
- Website
- Video
- Text
- Virtual Business Cards
- Phone Numbers
- Coupons or Special Deals
- Down loads
The list just keeps growing. . .
. . . They are scannable on just about any flat surface, like:
- Printed Magazines
- Flat Panel Televisions
- Computer Monitors
- T-Shirts
- Boxes
- Window Stickers, Etc.
They’re starting to show up in places like Best Buy on their price tags for more information about products they sell, and Television Shows like CSI New York. Check out the videos.
They’re great for taking you from the physical world, into the cyber world.

Here is one I created, using their software, that take you to my home page:

Pretty Cool, just think of the possibilities in your marketing.
One of the competitors of the QR Code System is Microsoft’s own system called Microsoft Tag, they are a little more complex, but hold even more possibilities in marketing with color and more. I’m in the process of testing them, so keep an eye out for a future article on them.
Until next time,

PS. Please try them out and let me know what uses you come up with, in the comments below.
