I received a Coupon Mailer in my mailbox today from Carl’s Jr. and noticed they had a Facebook page…
… OK, before you say they’ve been on Facebook, for some time now, where have you been? Like everyone else I’ve been, working, playing, going through life, Good & Bad, which just points out, you need to have a mix of marketing working for you, pointing to that thing your trying to promote, sell, market, you get my point. Carl’s thing, happens to be Food, they want you to go to their restaurants and buy their food… pretty simple!
And even more simple of a concept – Market to where your customer are!
Carl’s has figured it out, their customers are moving from traditional places like, Newspaper, Radio and Television…
… There on Social Media places like Facebook, and boy… Do they know how to do Facebook.
Let’s take a look at some pic’s of there Fan Page – First off, it draws you in, with it’s bright colors and white tiger of all things. You just want to spin the wheel, just to see what happens. But of course you have to, Click on the Like button, to be part of all the FUN!
WOW! Even more AWESOME, after clicking the Like Button, and a Cool Tiger, with a Milk Shake, Happy Star riding him, with Fire all around. Now all I have to do is, Click To Enter…
… Which opens another screen, with a button to load Carl’s Custom Facebook Application. I’m sure they would have liked skipping some of these steps, but Facebook Rules.
After clicking, the Click For Awesome button, Facebook makes sure you want to load their application. And you do, because it’s so AWESOME!
Facebook loads the application and all along, Carl’s keep reminding you, how AWESOME this is, by using a cool graphic counter, which was actually sort of cool to watch.
Then the thing you’ve been waiting for, and they didn’t disappoint… Music started playing, it was like a circus, you could play with the wheel, spinning it forward and back, of course watching the cool prizes popping up as it spins.
Then, I clicked the Spin button and Happy Star, ran out and gave the wheel a spin, winning me a free coffee and breakfast potatoes, with purchase of a breakfast sandwich. And I can save up my coupons, under my Wheel Profile for later.
But even more AWESOME, was the Marketing — What’s this I only get one spin, but if I get my friends to “Like their Fan Page” I get more spins and they make it so easy, by popping up your friends share page (not shown) hay get your own friends.
But here is a shot of me sending one of my friends an invitation to Carl’s Fan Page, so I get another Spin, (But only if my friends, Like Carl’s Fan Page) another incentive to Nag your friends, to fan their page, so you get even more spins for even cooler prizes, not just food, but all sorts of stuff. Of course all related to promoting Carl’s Jr.
And why stop at just your Facebook Friends, another invitation pops-up where I can invite my whole Email list, to Fan Carl’s Jr.
All and all, I think Carl’s Jr did an AWESOME job at funneling visitors to their Fan Page, then sealing the deal, with a great Custom Facebook Application, that keeps people coming back for more, along with incentives to recruit visitors to share and get the word out about Facebook.com/CarlsJr.
Until next time,
PS. This review shows how a company with a large budget can produce a winning campaign, but a small business, using creativity and a great plan, can produce a winning campaign to rival the big boys.
